You know those tourist tees that say, “I left my heart in…”? Well, I think I really did leave part of my heart in Cape Town. It certainly helps that I’ve been able to cultivate meaningful friendships through my time there for work, which makes each trip that much better.
Wander down Bree Street, and if you time it right you might be able to catch First Thursday. The V&A Waterfront offers the typical tourist fare with a little more flair – there’s a mall where you can pick up anything you may have forgotten, shop for curios at the Watershed, and grab some fresh biltong at the V&A food market. But do take some time to go beyond the city and hike Table Mountain, explore Muizenberg and Kalk Bay, or head down to Cape Point.
I love the spirit of positivity I feel whenever I’m there and hope that you put a visit to Cape Town onto your travel bucket list.
