Eats & Treats

It’s no secret that I love good food and seek it out whenever I travel. Lisbon did not disappoint. The city is well known for its delicious food and wine. From fresh seafood to traditional pastries, the city is a food-lover’s paradise. Pastel de nata is a local specialty – a delicious custard pastry that you’ll find at bakeries throughout the city. Every day I enjoyed a cappuccino with a pastel de nata (sometimes more than once).

Coffee & Breakfast

Dear Breakfast

This breakfast spot popped up several times while I was researching where to eat in Lisbon and I can see why. Dear Breakfast is a brunch-all-day spot with laid back vibes. They have a few locations – we dined in Chiado with a window-side table that overlooked passing cable cars.

Everything was beautiful and delicious.

Fabrica Coffee

With its minimalist decor and warm ambiance, Fabrica Coffee Roasters provides the perfect setting to unplug and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee. Whether you prefer a classic espresso or a perfectly crafted pour-over, the skilled baristas at Fabrica will ensure that each cup is made with precision and care.

Copenhagen Coffee Lab

Copenhagen Coffee Lab is a great choice if you’re looking for a cafe where you can work from. They have plenty of seating options, wifi, and coffee, of course. I can imagine camping out here for a few hours while working remotely or studying.

Dinner

Taberna da Rua das Floras

Taverna da Rua das Flores is a gem – it’s an intimate, unassuming restaurant; a hole in the wall you could easily walk by, but one with a waiting list a mile long. Unfortunately, they don’t take reservations and have limited seating, but if you can time it right and get in line before opening, you may luck out.

The menu changes daily and is scribbled on a chalkboard that the server brings around to each table. Arrive ready to sample local fare with no fuss.

100 Maneiras

Dining at 100 Maneiras was an immersive experience and did not disappoint. The plating and presentation of each course was unique, all of which was delicious, and portioned so that you can enjoy everything without slipping into a food coma.

As each course was delivered we received a bit of story telling about each dish, which was enhanced by the waitstaff, who seemed to appear out of nowhere each time.
